Here’s a very interesting link to the National Cancer Institute’s State Cancer Profiles page. There you can choose from a variety of tables, graphs, maps and data. You tell them what state and type of cancer interest you (or all cancers) and it will generate information in several different ways. You can even create handy maps from the tables and graphs, so look for their map icon to do this for you.
This is a great way to do some basic research. Though a bit confusing at first because of all the different options offered (you can break things down by gender, ethnicity, age, county and more) once you really look through it and try various options, you’ll see how useful this link can be. Start with incidence rates and mortality rates, generate a table and a map and take it from there!
